It’s Easier Than Ever to Support the Diocese of Baton Rouge

Simply Make a Tax-Free Gift from Your IRA

You’ve worked hard, saved diligently and are ready to enjoy your retirement years. Maybe you’re also looking for a way to give back to the organizations and causes that have been important to you. Consider making a gift from your IRA.

If you’re 70½ or older, you can use the IRA charitable rollover to make a tax-free gift to the Diocese of Baton Rouge. This provision allows you to transfer any amount up to $100,000 directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution.

The Total Stewardship Curriculum Wholly Committed

The Diocese of Baton Rouge Office of Stewardship invites you to pursue the Lord’s goodness and blessing through purposeful Total Stewardship commitment. This latest edition of the annual curriculum celebrates the fruit of focused Catholic devotion. In his letter to the Colossians, St. Paul set a high standard for us. “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17). Our humble prayer for you is shaped by his intentions, that we might be Wholly Committed.

As in previous editions of the Total Stewardship program, you will again find valuable resources for each primary stewardship effort: the Stewardship of Prayer, the Stewardship of Ministry, and the Stewardship of Finance. In addition, you will see another full year of devotional articles and quotes for your use, an expanded toolbox of helpful programming ideas, plus instructional helps of all kinds. In short, you will have access to a binder and DVD packed with materials designed to answer your stewardship programming needs every week, every month, throughout the year.

The material follows an established commitment in three key areas of stewardship focus—Prayer, Ministry and Finance. Everything a parish leader or stewardship committee may need to fully implement a successful program is included. Many are the referred, effective ideas of gifted stewardship coordinators, contributions that shape new curriculum content. By God’s grace, we continue to build on time-honored service and ministry in the region, prayerfully embracing the opportunity to advance the spread of a vital Catholic faith in our Total Stewardship diocese.

Stewardship Today is a monthly devotional newsletter designed to assist Catholics everywhere in developing a greater understanding of the role of stewardship in everyday life.
All we are, and all we possess, are gifts from God for our use and for the blessing of others. Through wise stewardship, we invest our time, our talents and our treasures to the glory of God.
